The Roman army drives the Barbarians out of Britain. 44 BC 61 AD 155 AD 122 AD Julius Caesar is assassinated. Boudicca, queen of the Iceni tribe, leads an uprising against the Romans in Britain. She is defeated at the Battle of Watling Street. Verulamium (St Albans) is destroyed by a great fire. Emperor Hadrian orders a wall to be built across the Scottish border. The remains of the wall can still be seen today.
