We now need the same type of results in pancreatic cancer. The NCI has issued a “scientific framework” (strategic plan) for pancreatic cancer as a result of the Recalcitrant Cancer Research Act of 2012, but it will be very difficult to leverage the opportunities that could result from the new report unless NCI funding levels improve. 2012 2012 6 Increased Investment Can Change the Prediction Breast 2013 2005 Pancreatic adenocarcinoma 2008 2004 Prostate Cancer sites Sources: Food and Drug Administration Cancer www.fda.govsites and National Cancer Institute www.cancer.gov.
