While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks
The Gospel
Priest: The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to Luke.

Luke 2:15-21
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said
to one another, ‘Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has
taken place, which the Lord has made known to us.’ So they went with
haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the child lying in the manger.
When they saw this, they made known what had been told them about
this child; and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told
them. But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her
heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they
had heard and seen, as it had been told them.
After eight days had passed, it was time to circumcise the child; and he
was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived
in the womb.

The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of
heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the

Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our
salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy
Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made

***Special Note***
1. PASTORAL NEEDS—Please phone the office (941-4324) if you would
like pastoral care or know of someone who is sick in the hospital, or would
like a pastoral visit. Also, please phone the office with names of people to
be added to the Prayers of the People list, the sick or injured and birthdays
and anniversaries to celebrate.
2. FOOD DONATIONS—Please coninue to bring NON-perishable items
each week to help our neighbors and friends. Items needed are pasta,
bottled sauce, canned meat, tuna, and vegetables, and small jars of jelly and
peanut butter, and pet food, health aids, and toilet paper.
3. FOOD BAGS FOR THE HOMELESS — Trinity Men’s Group
spearheads the collection of non-perishable food items to distribute TO
YOU, so that YOU might pass food-bags to homeless persons you
encounter throughout your day. Donations of items or funds can come to

“homeless bags” on the notation-line & we will purchase items in your

About Trinity Church
The church was founded in 1883, constructed in 1909 under
auspices of the noted architect Norman Isham. Most of our members live
near by, but is also a destination parish for those farther away. We
participate in village activities, holding community worship services
during Gaspee Days and Christmas in Pawtuxet, hosting breakfast on
Gaspee Parade Day and dinners through the year.
Trinity Church is committed to helping its neighbors through
outreach. We collect food, clothing and household goods for distribution
to people in need through local schools, food pantries, and agencies.
Our buildings are used by many community organizations for
their meetings and events.
