Mini Documentary Project – The Civil War AP U.S. History TASK Working in groups of 1-2 people, you are required to research one of the topics on the Civil War assigned to you by Mr. Gibson. Your task is to create a 2-3 minute documentary that examines and discusses the history and background of your topic, as well as it’s impact on the conflict that forged the United States. REQUIREMENTS Your movie must address the following areas that pertain to your topic Give your own brief description the event or section that you have been assigned. You can't include everything, so only provide your viewer with the most important information about your section of the conflict. Weave your answers to the questions below within this description. o Why is your section or area of focus historically significant within the Civil War? o Why is your section or area of focus historically significant within American History? There is a saying that “History is a story well told”. Make sure that your topics story is clear to your audience. Your movie must be 2 to 3 minutes long in order to receive full credit. Your movie must include a narration of at least 30 seconds. Your movie must include an interview / video clip of some kind that is at least 20 seconds long. Your movie must include relevant pictures, video clips, music, graphs, text, picture effects, transitions, etc, to make it look as professional as possible. GRADING / DUE DATES Your final is worth a total of 200 points. Your grade will be based on the rubric below.
