Research Data Management System: Agilent OpenLAB ELN Quick Start Guide

Login Information
1. Navigate to the ELN: https://eln.tufts.edu/eln. If a webpage comes up and reads ‘It
works!’ you forgot to add /eln at the end of the URL.
2. In order to access the ELN, you will need to allow pop-ups for eln.tufts.edu.

3. After you allow pop-ups, you will be redirected to the login screen. Enter your Tufts
UTLN and password and hit enter (or click the check mark).

4. Upon logging into the ELN, a prompt will ask if you’d like to allow eln.tufts.edu to run
plugins. Select Allow.
5. Next you will have to change the settings for the Java plug-in. For both Java plugins, you
must select ‘Allow and Remember.’ By choosing this option, you won’t need to do this
every time you log into the ELN. If you do not allow Java to run, the ELN will not load.
6. The ELN may take several seconds to initialize. Check to make sure the leaf and flask
icons
are green. If they remain grayed out, it means that there is an issue with
Java and the version of Java must be updated. NOTE: You don’t need to update Java
every time a new update is released.
7. Once the ELN loads, there will be another pop-up window that will ask ‘Do you want to
run this application?” Check the box ‘Do not show this again…’ and hit Run.

8. When you click the
icon, another pop-up will open that will ask “Allow access to the
following application from this website?” Check the box ‘Do not show this again…’ and
hit Allow.
