Palm Beach State College Academic Program Management Council Minutes Date: April 27, 2011 Room: ETA 101 Time: 1:30-3:30 PM Attendance: Bradshaw, Colleen Comrie, Sharon Delp, Terry Fisher, Jane Giese, Sheryl Horowitz, Kathleen Kalfin, Barbara Kennedy, Eric Kuzmirek, Beth Nicholson, Gwen Pedersen, Ginger Roche, Rose Ann Sass, Sharon Scott-Lubin, Sheila Tamayo, Luis Williams, Val ITEM 1. Co-Chair replacements Discussion: The council nominations were: Terry Delp, Eric Kennedy, and/or Luis Tamayo. The council members present decided that a male presence may be in order for a change. Concerns regarding the lack of attendance were also discussed among the members present. Action: All three men, graciously, declined to accept the position. Gwen Nicholson volunteered for the chair position and all other council members would assist her as necessary. ITEM 2. Update on marketing Discussion: Program Manager Barbara Kalfin shared with the council her experience with Google for her marketing needs. She is still in the trial phase and will be able to determine, at her next information session, whether it has been a productive marketing tool. Action: Council members discussed that each manager would share each other’s programs, offered at the college, when scheduling an information session. We also discussed listing each other’s programs on our web pages as another means of marketing each other’s programs. ITEM 3. Graduation Discussion: There will continue to be two graduation ceremonies during commencement. Action: Council members will continue to attend the morning PSAV graduation ceremony. ITEM 4. Goal for the Council to work on Discussion: The council discussed working on some type of a community calendar, similar to the community educator, that is distributed throughout the community marketing all the programs offered on our campus’ Action: Council members will bring suggestions to Joyce Edelstein to assist with a marketing tool.
