Step Up to Leadership
All youth have leadership potential.
Leadership is a set of skills and attitudes
that can be learned and developed. Youth
at any age can begin to develop leadership
skills in their homes, schools and clubs.
They hold the capacity through their leadership to make a difference in others’ lives,
their communities, their county, and their
world.
~ PARTICIPANTS GAIN ~
21st Century Skills, such as:
Teambuilding
Leadership
Communication
Goal-Setting
Problem-Solving
Critical Thinking
Social & Emotional Intelligence
What Participants Have to Say:
“I learned how being a leader requires you to know
the strengths and weaknesses of people in your
group.”
Workshop Goals:
 Acquire leadership skills.
 Improve communication skills and
teamwork.
 Provide opportunities for youth to be
leaders of today, not just of tomorrow.
 Develop self-confidence.
 Have fun!
“I learned more about who I am as a person from
doing the personality tests. I also learned I am not
the only one with difficulties standing up and having
a voice, and I learned how to overcome that challenge.”
“Learning leadership is fun. Why can’t school be
more like this?”
“I learned that communication helps to let everyone
know what you’re talking about, and help them understand. I’ll use it to help other people understand
me. That way there won’t be any misunderstanding.”
