Making Mathematical Connections Application Form Program Timeline and Commitments Making Mathematical Connections is a three-year program. For each year of participation in the program, you will have the option of receiving a cash stipend of $1540, or 4 non-degree graduate credits from UW Oshkosh. No tuition or fees will be charged. In addition, you will receive a $100 stipend for taking surveys and assessments for our program’s evaluation. We ask that all participants make a threeyear commitment to the program, and agree to participate in the following program activities: Year One (Number and Algebraic Thinking) Time Duration Activity June 9, 2015 Half day, afternoon Half day, afternoon 10 full days Workshop for baseline assessments for our program’s evaluation June 10, 2015 July 13-17, and July 20-24, 2015 Academic Year 2015-16 Fall 2015 8 hours January 2016 Half Day 4 hours Opening Workshop on Mathematical Thinking and Problem Solving, and begin teacher/faculty dialog on Common Core Two-week Summer Institute on Number and Algebraic Thinking, Common Core Mathematical Practices, and Children’s Thinking/Common Mathematical Misconceptions.
