160 DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY - DRAMA DMSO 2367: PRACTICUM II – DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY (3:0-0-24) Practical, general workplace training supported by an individualized learning plan developed by the employer,college, and student. Prerequisites: A grade of “C” or higher in each of the following DMSO 2442, DMSO 2354, and DMSO 2366 Measurable Learning Outcomes: As outlined in the learning plan, apply the theory, concepts, and skills involving specialized materials, tools, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal systems associated with the occupation and the business/industry and will demonstrate legal and ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and appropriate written and verbal communication skills using the terminology of the occupation and the business/industry. DMSO 2405: SONOGRAPHY OF OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY (4:3-3-0) Detailed study of the pelvis and obstetrics/gynecology as related to scanning techniques, patient history and laboratory data, transducer selection, and scanning protocols. This course has a lab. Lab Fee $24. Prerequisites: A grade of “C” or higher in each of the following DMSO 2441, DMSO 1361, DMSO 2351 Measurable Learning Outcomes: Identify the sonographic appearances of normal and abnormal female pelvis; identify normal and abnormal obstetrical findings’ demonstrate appropriate scanning techniques using standard protocols; evaluate patient history and laboratory data as it relates to ultrasound; and select appropriate transducer for area of interest. DMSO 2441: SONOGRAPHY OF ABDOMINOPELVIC PATHOLOGY (4:3-3-0) Pathologies and disease states of the abdomen and pelvis as related to scanning techniques, patient history and laboratory data, transducer selection, and scanning protocols. Emphasizes endocavitary sonographic anatomy and procedures including pregnancy. This course has a lab. Lab fee $24. Prerequisites: A grade of “C” or higher in each of the following DMSO 1110, DMSO 1441,,DSVT 1103, and DMSO 1302 Measurable Learning Outcomes: Identify abnormal abdominal and pelvic structures; demonstrate appropriate scanning techniques using standard protocol guidelines; and evaluate patient history and laboratory data as it relates to sonography. DMSO 2442: SONOGRAPHY OF HIGH RISK OBSTETRICS (4:3-3-0) Maternal disease and fetal abnormalities. Includes scanning techniques, patient history and laboratory data, transducer selection, and scanning protocols. This course has a lab. Lab fee $24. Prerequisites: A grade of “C” or higher in each of nthe following DMSO 2405, and DMSO 2363. Measurable Learning Outcomes: Identify normal and abnormal fetal and maternal structures; identify pertinent measurement techniques and scanning techniques using standard protocols; and evaluate patient history and laboratory data as it relates to sonography. •• Drama •• DRAM 1120: THEATER PRACTICUM I (1:0-3) This is a laboratory course for extensive participation in theater activities. It consists of work in drama for public presentation, backstage work, use of makeup, properties, lighting, and other facets of technical theater. An average of three hours each week or a minimum of forty-eight hours of participation during the semester is required. This course may be repeated for credit. Maximum of 4 credits. Measurable Learning Outcomes: 1.To provide students with exposure to practical applications of theatre production 2.To provide students with experience in theatrical crew work, performance, props running, sound and light tech, costume construction, and/or front of house management 3.To offer students opportunities to apply academic instruction to the process of actual production TEMPLE COLLEGE 2012 - 2013 CATALOG 161 DRAM 1121: THEATER PRACTICUM II (1:0-3) This is a laboratory course for extensive participation in theater activities. It consists of work in drama for public presentation, backstage work, use of makeup, properties, lighting, and other facets of technical theater. An average of three hours each week or a minimum of forty-eight hours of participation during the semester is required. This course may be repeated for credit. Prerequisite: DRAM 1120 or permission of the instructor. Maximum of 4 credits. Measurable Learning Outcomes: 1.Producing a public performance of a full length play. 2.Learn various aspects of producing a play including auditioning cast, acting, directing, scenery design and construction, lighting, and sound. 3.Learn how to create and follow a production budget. DRAM 1310: INTRODUCTION TO THEATER (3:3-0) A general survey of all phases of theater with emphasis on the various types and styles of plays, elementary theory, introduction to acting and directing, and introduction to technical production. Designed as a theater appreciation course for the non-drama major and an introduction to theater activities for the drama major. R, W Measurable Learning Outcomes: 1.Identify the basic elements of theatre. 2.Compare popular entertainment to art. 3.Acquire, evaluate, and organize data to aid in critical evaluation of the aesthetics and semiotics of the theatre. DRAM 1330: STAGECRAFT I (3:3-2) An introduction to the fundamentals of technical theater. Basic techniques of play production including scenery design and construction, make-up, costuming, properties, and lighting. Measurable Learning Outcomes: 1.To understand the role of design in dramatic storytelling. 2.To contribute to and participate in the collaborative process of theatre production. 3.To meet the incremental deadlines associated with production. 4.To learn the fundamentals of theatre protocol. 5.To learn the mechanics and operation of theatrical equipment. 6.To participate in the basic operation of the theatre, including house, box office, stage management, and general maintenance. DRAM 2331: STAGECRAFT II (3:3-2) A continuation of DRAM 1330, emphasizing the study and application of visual aesthetics of design. Prerequisite: DRAM 1330 or permission of the instructor. DRAM 1341: MAKE-UP (3:3-2) The theory and practice of make-up for the stage. Principles of designing and applying make-up for characters in a play. Intensive practical application. Measurable Learning Outcomes: 1.To understand the reasons for using makeup in the theatre and other theatrical like events. 2.To develop familiarity with and dexterity in the application of all the varied makeup materials. 3.To learn to effect changes in age or in physical condition by the use of makeup. 4.To stimulate and develop the student’s observation and memory of people in real life. 5.To encourage students to use their imagination in creating fantasy makeups.
