1. Read The Long Walk by Slavomir Rawicz.
2. Read the article entitled “Walking the Talk?” from the BBC News. The article is dated
Oct. 30, 2006. You can find it at bbcnews.uk.
3. This is a great survivor’s tale that occurred during WWII. However, recently some people
have questioned its authenticity. After reading the book and the article, you should
answer the following questions…
A. Discuss some of the different theories that challenge the authenticity of this story.
B. Why do some people believe this story never happened?
4. This one is optional. Watch the movie about the book titled, The Way Back.

5. Read The Mental Floss History of the World by Erik Sass, Steve
Wiegand,
6. This is a good review of major World History events; especially
helpful to those who haven’t taken a World History class.
