Calculated Numeric Questions
Calculated Numeric Response questions resemble fill-in-the-blank questions. The user enters a
number to complete a statement. The correct answer can be a specific number or within a range of
numbers.
Example of Calculated Numeric Question:
Note: This tutorial assumes the test has already been created within Blackboard. Refer to the Adding
a Test to Tests/Survey/Pool area for further information about this step.
1. From the Test Canvas screen, choose Calculated Numeric from the Create Question menu.
2. Enter the question text, making sure to include directions so a numeric response is indicated.

3. Enter the Point Value for the question and indicate if the question is for Extra Credit only.
4. In the Answers section, enter the correct answer and indicate in the Answer Range box if a
numeric range is allowable. If the answer must be exact, leave the Answer Range box empty.
5. Add feedback for correct/incorrect answers as desired.
6. Finally, click Submit to save the completed question.
