The WOW Web Standards and Best Practices workshop isn t about

lies in the separation of the presentation layer from the structural layer
of the technology. Web standards is science, and you ll learn how to
approach it like a scientist would. We ll be discussing Web browsers,
current development tools, HTML versus XHTML, and why CSS is
emerging as a solution to more than making sites attractive, but making
them accessible, too.

with XHTML, you ll learn it as the morning session progresses ‒ so you
can implement it at any time. The key to great standards-based,
accessible web sites lies in the structured, semantic document. This
session will explain what that means and how to create it ‒ no matter
the development tools you re using.

ensuring your documents can be made easily accessible for those with
disabilities, CSS is a tool that is far more than just another pretty face!

WOW conference attendees will be eligible to sit WOW s professional
level certification exams. WOW s professional level exams retail for
$150.00 but the fee is waived for conference attendees. Attendees will
be able to schedule the proctored exams at a convenient time either
Saturday or Sunday.

An author, instructor, and Web designer, Molly E. Holzschlag has
authored over 30 books related to Web design and development. She's
been coined "one of the greatest digerati" and deemed one of the Top
25 Most Influential Women on the Web. There is little doubt that in the
world of Web design and development, Molly is one of the most fun
and vibrant Web characters around!
As a steering committee member for the Web Standards Project
(WaSP), Molly works along with a group of other dedicated Web
developers and designers to promote W3C recommendations. She also
teaches Webmaster courses for the University of Arizona, University of
Phoenix, and Pima Community College. She wrote the very popular
column, Integrated Design, for Web Techniques Magazine for the last
three years of its life, and spent a year as Executive Editor of
WebReview.com. Molly also serves on the WOW Advisory Board.
