A charged object placed in a field will feel a force, which is a result of the electric field interacting with the new charged particle. Objects moving near Earth and subject only to Earth’s gravitational field are said to be in freefall. The freefall model neglects both the size and the shape of the object that is moving in Earth’s gravitational field.
