Target Market
Deploying intelligent network
solution for:
1.
2.
3.
4.
Midsize enterprise
Large enterprise
Service provider
Channel/partners
Benefits
1) Sophisticated traffic performance
reporting at the edge and core of
the customer IP and MPLS/VPN
network to allow complete bandwidth
usage view of customer edge (CE)
provider edge (PE) (per subinterface) and PE-PE to optimize
network performance
2) Enhanced the values of IP Solution
Center, CNS Performance Engine
and NFC
integration for more than 1000
NFC customers worldwide and
adding capabilities of managing
multiple NFCs and appliances in the
network
3) Provide easy means for ISPs and
ILECs to enforce and aid peering
contract negotiation between the
identified peering points.

Benefits
Cisco® NFC Version 5.0
Key Features
4) Reduce costs by providing an
important NFC configuration and
reporting components for Cisco
end-to-end solutions using
embedded Web-based tools
4) Web-based interface
5) Extended QoS—support
differentiated
services code point (DSCP); type of
service (ToS) and EXP bits to allow
superior handling of mission-critical
and bandwidth-intensive applications
by reporting on traffic classification,
prioritization, and congestion
6) Support for latest IOS NetFlow
enhancements
5) QoS—Include EXP field

6) IPv6; Random sampling NetFlow,
NetFlow multicast and max-burst
rate
7
Cisco CNS NetFlow Collection Engine
Version 5.0 Key Features
• Web-based interface
Cisco® NFC 5.0 will have a Web-based user interface for configuration,
control, and simple reporting
•
VPN PE-PE module
A lightweight version of Cisco CNS Performance Engine—The NetFlow
Mediator will pull aggregation results from the Cisco NFC hosts and
correlate them with the customer data obtained from the Cisco VPN Solution
Center (VPNSC)
• DNS and interface name look up
The user will be able to configure the Cisco NFC output to contain IP
addresses or DNS names

8
Cisco CNS NetFlow Collection Engine
Version 5.0 Key Features (Cont.)
• Max-burst rate
Provide a thread option to record a maximum burst rate with Cisco® NFC
output records.
• Self-describing Cisco NFC output
Self-describing aggregation results that contain the data-type definition of all
fields.
• QoS
Cisco NFC 5.0 is able to output the entire ToS byte; DSCP and EXP field.
EXP is a 3-bit field in the MPLS header that indicates the class of service of
the MPLS packet.
