VirtualRadio is a software based RoIP wireless communications solution which can merge multiple disparate radio communications systems from around the world. RoIP (Radio over Internet Protocol) is similar to VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) but deals with operating 2way radio products over IP rather than telephony products over IP. VirtualRadio enables you to dispatch from any network connected PC, communicate from radio to radio across a wide area network and eliminates replacing your existing radio system. VirtualRadio incorporates GPS tracking of assets with any custom mapping, or use the built-in free mapping (mobiles and portables require a GPS module). VirtualRadio is a dispatch console VirtualRadio is a remote radio controller VirtualRadio is a GPS tracker VirtualRadio is a communications server VirtualRadio is a remote systems link VirtualRadio is a multi channel remote VirtualRadio is an internet link VirtualRadio has full roaming capabilities Best of all, VirtualRadio will reduce operational costs and increase productivity with minimal investment of your resources. Complete with FleetSync™ Text Messaging & Signaling, GPS & AVL Mapping (Google / Mappoint maps). Multi-channel remote controllers are expensive! VirtualStation software can be installed on up to 99 user computers giving each of them (if you choose to) complete control of the base radio. We mean complete control, channel change, volume adjust, scan on/off and any other function the radio will normally allow. The old remote adaptors can stay as-is and be used for audio only. The PTT on the remotes can be used or the software PTT can be used with a click of the mouse. Anyone with a PC on their desk can have full control for a small fraction of the cost of a hardware solution. The built-in remote module is the actual connection to the base radio: • Unlimited Mobiles Support • Numeric status, Long and Short Data Messaging • GPS and Mapping Support • VOIP audio support • VRRoamer support automatically registers channel change • VRRemotes can be spread over different locations via internet, extending the range of communications • VRRemotes can also be linked, enabling portable to portable communication over unlimited distances With the VRRoamer module installed, each radio can roam between any number of sites reporting back to the base each time a channel change is needed to keep optimum coverage. The micro-processor and GPS continually check the position of the mobile against a stored coverage map and changes channels accordingly. Before any channel change takes place the radio transmits it’s new channel to the base and VRStation updates the mobiles home channel. No more channel searching to find a mobile just press and talk. All this without one penny of investment in your infrastructure. VRRoamer comes with a computer program to automatically calculate ideal coverage for any given site and program the microcomputers. VirtualRadio has free GPS mapping built-in. As standard, VR has internet mapping capabilities with Google Maps. Google Maps is in the public domain and free, however, services may be disconnected at any time. To enable mapping without using an internet connection, you may also purchase and install Microsoft Mappoint on your computer. VirtualRadio includes support for one click sending of status messages, short or long data messages and FleetSync™ control. This software has been tested on Windows XP, 2000 and 2003 only, while it may work on other versions we recommend those versions. Support for Vista is limited. Any remote access requires an internet connection, if more than one dispatch console will be used a Windows server and local area network is required. A basic knowledge of a Windows server based LAN is required to install and setup this system, while every endeavor has been made to make the installation as automatic as possible some expertise is required. IT support can be provided on a time & material basis for installing software, routers and hubs. We recommend PC’s with a minimum of 512megs of memory and at least Pentium III at 1Ghz. If VoIP will be used, each computer must have a sound card installed. Network cards should be 100mbps or better. For strict radio control little resources are used and lesser systems may work fine, if using VoIP (voice over IP) on multiple computers, speed and memory could be an issue. To allow the full use of VirtualRadio‘s features, you must use a base radio Kenwood TK-7180 or TK-8180. VirtualRadio also operates with other radio brands and models, without data / GPS / Fleet IDs and with a single channel per radio. When you purchase VirtualRadio you receive a license for: 1 x VRServer 1 x VRRemote 5 x VRStation Additionnal licences can be obtained.
