Marketing & Communications Intern
Boston University School of Theology (STH) is the founding school of Boston University, serving
masters and doctoral students who are pursuing a wide range of vocations: parish ministry,
conflict transformation, chaplaincy, campus ministry, social work, justice advocacy, peacemaking,
interfaith dialogue, academic work, and more. As an intern, you will work directly with the
Communications Coordinator, who manages the internal and external marketing and
communications efforts at STH. Depending on the skills and interest areas of the intern, this
experience can center on one or more of the areas listed below.
Potential Responsibilities:

Website Management:
– Assist in content development for STH’s website
– Create mockups for web updates and support with page updates
– Assist in managing the STH online calendar
Event Promotion:
– Create event promotion plans and do event outreach to BU schools, departments
and other Boston schools
– Support on execution/distribution of event materials
– Provide support for events newsletters
Public Relations and General Marketing:
– Draft STH news posts and summaries of news stories quoting STH alumni and
faculty
– Capture efforts of STH community on website and other owned communication
channels
– Research opportunities to promote STH content and stories in BU Today and other
media outlets
Professional Growth and Development:
No matter what area(s) the intern directly supports, he/she can expect to leave the experience
