Scenario 2:
The curriculum leaders in the school are resistant to the idea
of using department time to improve teaching practices as
they see department time as the domain for the enormous
amount of administration they have to do and the
department's own-decided p.l.d.
Key thoughts

• Senior leadership team may need to look at what their
expectations are.
• Discussion to gain a deeper understanding of the issue.
• Communication alignment between senior and middle
leadership.
• Address the issue and don't let it go.
• Gather evidence to support judgments or to disconfirm.
• Modeling.
• Is the HoF/HoD equipped? Is the senior leader equipped to
have the conversations that matter?
