The Science of dancing By: Erica Salvatierra Class:806 Introduction to Science of dancing One reason why I chose this sport because I find that dancing gives you a lot of energy to your body. Another reason why I chose this sport because when you dance you move muscle and sinew to express the rhythms of music, but also concentration and Potential Energy An example of potential energy of dancing is when somebody moves or jumps or falls or explodes or breathes or thinks or dances or does anything, it's because energy is being transformed. Kinetic Energy Kinetic energy is motion, electrons, atoms, molecules, substances, and objects. There is a lot of example of kinetic energy in dancing, such as when you here a rhythm you jump, do stepping, swing, and turns. Digestive System The digestive system digests food to give our body energy. Our body needs to use energy to chew the food and then enzymes, the stomach, liver, pancreas and intestines work together to give our body nutrients. The digestive system helps Dancing give more energy to move more your body. Need to eat well in order not to get dizzy or could not be able to move your body. Respiratory System The Respiratory System makes your heart work fast and makes your lungs hard, they slowly become larger and can take in more air each time you inhale. In dancing you need to take in air in order to move and breath to dance. Circulatory System The circulatory system is made up of the vessels and the muscles that help and control the flow of the blood around the body. In dancing you need energy to move around, spin, and jump you even have to eat well. With each heartbeat, blood is sent throughout our bodies, carrying oxygen and nutrients to all of our cells. Excretory System The excretory system functions in ridding the body of nitrogenous and other wastes. Dancing need the excretory system to relax and cool off their bodies. Muscular System The Muscular System controls movement. Without muscles you couldn't open your mouth, speak, shake hands, walk, talk, or move your food through your digestive system. Muscles are attached to the skeleton and move various parts of the body. Dancers need strong muscular to move their legs, spin and jump around. Electric Energy Electric energy is when positive and negative charges make electricity. The dancer need electricity to listen to music. Energy Transformation Kinetic energy is when you move a lot. Heat is almost always produced in energy transformation. Dancing can produce heat energy by moving around causing the dancer to get really hot. Conserving Energy Is good to save energy to leave and have energy to move. Dancer can rest up before a dance starts so they have more energy to move later. Newton’s 1st Law of Motion An object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction. A moving body would continue moving forever in the absence of an outside force. Dancer tend to slow down and stop by themselves. Newton’s 2nd Law of Motion There are three physical laws which provide relationships between the forces acting on a body and the motion of the body. The greater force behind a dancer the faster he or she will move. I think the more force the dancer have the more they will move. Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion There are actions that have the equal and opposite reaction. The amount the dancer you jump up the same amount the dancer will come back down. Conclusion I think dance would not exist without science. Our body needs a lot of energy to dance and move around. The greater the force, the more the dancer will move. With out electric energy the dancer would not be able to listen to music because they need electricity to listen to music. Dancer tend to slow down and stop by themselves which is Newton’s Laws of Motion.
