It all started… Typically… However… The fizz caused my esophagus to dilate abnormally. • Digestive System This triggered the Vagus nerve which controls a lot of your body’s organs including the esophagus and some heart functions. • Digestive System • Nervous System • Activation of the vagus nerve leads to lower heart rate, blood pressure, or both. • Can also cause vasovagal syncope because of a sudden drop in blood pressure and heart rate. • Digestive System • Nervous System • Circulatory System Blah, blah, blah… It made me faint. I hit my head really hard on the floor. • This is why I don’t like you to lean back in your chairs. Trust me! This floor is HARD!! Once I get a copy of my CT scan, I’ll prove it! • The nasty hit to my head gave me a slight concussion, but it was enough to let me take the day off! I’m ok now! • Now…let’s learn how to pee! 4 Body Systems in one class period! • • • • Digestive System Nervous System Circulatory System Excretory System –Boy, am I good! I should get smacked in the head more often!
