Confederate soldiers,
The confederate soldiers uniform was
Grey. Army officers indicated their affiliation
with colored facing on their coats or jackets:
red for artillery, yellow for cavalry light blue
for infantry, black for medical.

Civil War

The union soldiers uniform was blue.
When they are an officer they have
little gold sashes on there shoulders.
A field officer has a red
belt which means he has
command over somebody
in the field.
Robert E. Lee

Robert E. Lee was offered a position in
the union army, but he said no. He
chose to be loyal to his home state of
Virginia and be a general in the
confederate army. His father Henry lee
to most people he was a Revolutionary
war hero.
Ulysses Grant



President Lincoln appointed him General-inChief in March 1864. Grant directed the
union army through the South pinning down
Gen. Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern
Virginia.
Finally, on April 9, 1865, Lee surrendered.
Grant’s victory over Lee ended the civil war.
