Syncopation

When a melody goes against a steady
beat it is said to be syncopated

Syncopation features a lot in jazz, rock
and pop music
Make an oompah backing

Use the chords C (ceg), F (fac), G (gbd)

Arrange them into an oompah – one note
low (usually the Root of the chord), with
the other two on top

Practise it in pairs at a keyboard
