Each component of a cell has a specific function that is necessary for the operation of the entire cell as a unit. It can be compared to a city or community, with each organelle important to the operation of the entire community. “The cell wall of a plant cell would be similar to the bricks that make up a wall around the giraffe house at the zoo.” Make analogies between the functions of the various cell parts and functions of the components of a city. To do this, insert a graphic of an element of a city to each cell parts slide to represent the function of the cell. Example: Plant Cell Wall = Go on Creature Feature Entry: Cell City For each cell part, click the insert graphic icon, search for, and insert an appropriate graphic to make your analogy. Then click in the green text box and explain the organelle’s location and function. Do all the slides this way.
