Cameron University’s theatre department
to hold auditions for “Annie Get Your Gun”
Open auditions for the local theatrical presentation of the critically acclaimed “Annie Get Your Gun” are
scheduled for Jan. 10-11 at Cameron University.
Auditions begin at 7 p.m. nightly in the Cameron University Theatre, located at 27th and A Avenue in
Lawton. The auditions are open to the entire Lawton-Fort Sill community. Those auditioning are required to
memorize a song from a Broadway musical and wear a comfortable outfit.
Numerous roles are available for men, women and children. Available children’s roles are for two girls,
ages 12 and 14, as well as a young male role, age 10. College credit is available for Cameron students.
“Annie Get Your Gun,” which is the third production in the CU Department of Music and Theatre Arts' 20042005 season, “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” will open the spring portion of the season March
3-6, 2005.
Based on the true story of Annie Oakley, the musical takes place in the old West as Buffalo Bill Cody
discovers Annie and attempts to persuade this novel sharpshooter to join his Wild West Show. It features
such superb musical numbers as “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “Anything You Can Do, I Can
Do Better,” “An Old Fashioned Wedding,” “Doin’ What Comes Natur’lly,” “The Girl That I Marry,” “I Got the
Sun in the Morning” and “You Can’t Get a Man with a Gun.”
