Definition

A Chronic (long
lasting) skin disease
characterized by
scaling and
inflammation. Scaling
occurs when cells in
the outer layer of skin
reproduce faster than
normal and pile upon
the skin’s surface.
Immune System

Normal immune sys.- It include a type of
white blood cell, called T cell it protect the
body against infection and disease.
 Abnormal immune sys.- It cause activity by
T cells in the skin,it trigger the
inflammation and excessive skin cell.
Who is infected?

About 1 to 2% of the U.S population or 5.5
million people get infected.
 Mostly common between the age 15 to 35
years old.
 Mostly frequently occurs are male
Caucasians population.
 It is also inherited
Symptoms





Lesion appear on the
trunk,limbs,scalp
Noninfectious pus
appear on the skin
Vividly red plaques
near the genitals
Under the breasts
itching






Painful
Armpits
Silvery scales
Inflammation
Watery eyes
Plaque psoriasis
There are three type of
treatment

Tropical treatment
 Photo therapy treatment
 Systemic treatment
 There are also called 1-2-3 approach
