Weighted Courses





AP (0.35 weight)
CHS (0.25 weight)
Honors (0.125 weight)
Weight is an add-on to the base QPA
Weight formula includes a divisor that increases as opportunities to
take weight increases – allows for a fair QPA distribution for all
students
 Select weighted courses carefully to ensure a consistent add-on
weight advantage

performance on standardized assessments, as
determined by the school district.
World Language
World language is often needed for college admission.
Most colleges require 2-3 years on the high school
transcript.
Colleges vary on whether they will count the 8th
grade world language toward their entrance
requirements. Language taken in grade 8 will be
reflected on an SV transcript.
Honors level courses in World Language are available
for 2nd and 3rd year students. Please consult your
current teacher and the Program of Studies for
prerequisites.
