What Is World War II?

How did it happen?
The beginning of WWII began in
September 1st, 1939. Germany attacked
Poland without warning which sparked the
starting of World War II.
 Evening of September 3rd, Britain and
France were at war with Germany.
 Within a week, Australia, New Zealand,
Canada, and South Africa joined the war

Who is Adolf Hitler?




Adolf Hitler was born April 20, 1889, in a small
Austrian town of Braunau.
Hitler did extremely well at primary school. It
appeared he had a bright future.
Hitler decided to seize power constitutionally by
using demagogic oratory . He spoke to mass
audiences, calling for the German people to
resist the yoke of Jews and Communist.

When and Why Did the U.S. Join?




March 1940, the U.S. joined the war against
Germany, Japan, and Italy.
U.S. ended up contributing 42 billion dollars to
the war effort by 1945
In 1941,the Japanese attacked U.S.’s military
base, Pearl Harbor in two waves
Behind them they left chaos, 2403 dead, 188
destroyed planes, and 8 damaged or destroyed
battleships. This made the U.S. furious and
joined the war.
What happened in Stalingrad?





On June 22nd , 1941, four million German troops
poured over the Russian border
Within one month, over two million Russians
died.
Winter hit, Germans were caught in summer
uniforms, and it was a very bitter Winter for that
year.
That was when Stalin sent in another two million
soldiers at Germany
During the spring of 1943, another German
offensive was launched especially around the
approaches to Stalingrad.
How did World War II end?



Germany surrendered on May 7th and May 8th to
the Soviet Union, 1945, a week after Adolf Hitler
committed suicide.
Japan was able to hold out for a couple more
months, but then atomic bombs were dropped
on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6th, 1945.
After that, the Imperial Government sought the
emperor’s personal authority to surrender which
he granted.
Conclusion
Overall, World War II resulted in excessive
terrorism against races.
 All of this discrimination led to the death of
millions who were included in the war
involuntarily.
 Adolf Hitler’s death created the downfall of
the Axis force which ended any possibility
of Germany attempting to create the Third
Reich.

