On June 22nd , 1941, four million German troops poured over the Russian border Within one month, over two million Russians died. Winter hit, Germans were caught in summer uniforms, and it was a very bitter Winter for that year. That was when Stalin sent in another two million soldiers at Germany During the spring of 1943, another German offensive was launched especially around the approaches to Stalingrad. How did World War II end? Germany surrendered on May 7th and May 8th to the Soviet Union, 1945, a week after Adolf Hitler committed suicide. Japan was able to hold out for a couple more months, but then atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6th, 1945. After that, the Imperial Government sought the emperor’s personal authority to surrender which he granted. Conclusion Overall, World War II resulted in excessive terrorism against races. All of this discrimination led to the death of millions who were included in the war involuntarily. Adolf Hitler’s death created the downfall of the Axis force which ended any possibility of Germany attempting to create the Third Reich.
