Working in the World War
Women worked in the
world war as nurses,
grew vegetables made
clothes. Or would have
built and delivered
aircraft or
ammunitions.As more
and more and more men
were called up to serve
in the forces women
were called up to do jobs
done by men.
Men worked in the
world war as
doctors,miners or
railway and dock
workers.Most would
have fought in the
war. Or to learn in the
military if men
weren’t healthy or
were to weak would
have supervised
them.
Evacuation
Children that lived in the city in
World War II had to evacuate
from their homes away from their
parents. This happened because
they were in serious danger
because of the air raids that were
going to happen or had already
started. Also it would be too
dangerous for children to stay
where they were because the
enemies who were attacking they
would have with the most
population of people that lived
there.
This a child who lived in
Germany and this is what
he experienced.Bruno is the
9-year-old son of a German
officer during WWII.
Forced to leave his home in
Berlin, His loneliness and
ill-feeling towards his home
create a sympathy for this
often unconsidered victim of
the war. He is powerless and
struggles to make sense of
what he sees.
Teenagers and what happened to them
in the world war
Male teenagers would have had to work in
the army female teenagers would have to
create and sharpen weapons even if they 13
– 18 . When they would have refused this
they would have been tortured or killed
normally it would be the male teenagers if
the female teenagers refused they would
have to be dragged to the factory and if not
they would have been shot in front of the
other women or female teenagers but most
of them wouldn't because they understand
the consequences.
Prime ministers at the time
From 1940-45 it was Winston Churchill. However,
Neville Chamberlain was prime minister when
Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939,
and it was Chamberlain who declared war on
Germany two days later. Adolf Hitler became the
leader of Germany and was very annoying to many
people because he wanted to rule the world .Joseph
Stalin was the leader recognised by the U.S and its
allies. Edwaurd Daladier and Charles de Gaulle
were the 2 leaders of France top and bottom.
Adolf Hitler’s Life
Adolf Hitler was born on 20
April 1889. His father was a
customs official. Hitler left
school at 16 with no
qualifications and struggled
to make a living as a painter
in Vienna. This was where
many of his extreme
political and racial ideas
originated.When Germany
was told that they had to let
go of most of their army, air
force also their soldiers
Hitler offered to be their
leader and to make Germany
a better country and then
world war to began.
Germany
In 1918, Germany lost World War One. It had to give up
land and was banned from having armed forces.
In 1933 the German people voted for a leader named
Adolf Hitler, who led a political party in Germany called
the National Socialists or Nazis. Hitler promised to make
his country great again and quickly began to arm
Germany again and to seize land from other countries.
Germany started World War II with Adolf Hitler who
was the leader at the time and was power mad and with
him as the leader Germany came back to power with an
amazing air force and army which they had secretly
formed and started to fight for more land.
Food Rationing
During the war food and clothes were in short
supply. The government set up rationing to make
sure everyone got a fair share of food. People
had to queue up outside shops for hours to buy
some food. People did the best they could . They
made cakes without eggs. They made coffee from
dried acorns. Some people bought extra food
from the black market.
Winston Churchill
Winston Churchill
was a politician but
once the war
started he knew
that Adolf Hitler
would be trouble
and this was
because once he
started taking land
Churchill knew he
wouldn’t stop
taking land then he
became the prime
minister of Britain.
Benito Mussolini
Benito Mussolini was born on July
29th, 1883 in the town of Varnano
dei Costa near the village of
Predappio. His mother Rosa
Maltoni was married to a
blacksmith named Alessandro
Mussolini. Alessandro, being an
admirer of the Mexican
revolutionary Benito Juarez,
named his son after the patriot
and hero. Benito Mussolini was an
avid writer and after he finished
his schooling, he became an editor
for the Milan socialist paper
"Avanti". He became well known
among the Italian socialists, but
soon started promoting his views
for war against Germany in World
War I.
Remembrance day
•
The 11th day of the
11th month the u.k
commemorates this
day because of how
they fought
honourably and how
they risk their lives
for our country and
we spare this minute
just for them!
The Blitz
By mid-September 1940, the Battle of Britian had been lost by the
Germans. This was the first setback Hitler had received during world war
11. The Blitz on British cities – night-time raids as opposed to daytime to
enhance the fear factor – was Hitler’s attempt to destroy Britain’s morale.
The attacks started on September 7th 1940 and continued to May 1941.
London was especially badly hit. At the start of the campaign, the
government did not allow the use of underground rail stations as they
considered them a potential safety hazard. However, the population of
London took the matter into their own hands and opened up the chained
entrances to the tube stations. In the Underground they were safe from the
high explosive and incendiary bombs that rained down on London night
after night. With one or two exceptions, their confidence was rewarded. The
City tube station was hit when a bomb went through the road and fell into it.
Over 200 were killed.
I’m sorry but It’s …….
