Transcript
To use your calculator for calculating statistics, you must become
familiar with the process of changing into and out of the required
mode
For basic statistics using
CASIO fx-MS
CASIO fx-Tl
CASIO fx-W
CASIO fx-100S

When you are successfully in statistics mode, a
symbol sd should appear at the top of your screen.

symbol Stat x should appear at the top of your screen.
BEFORE ENTERING ANY DATA
It is important that you are not carrying any previously entered data into the next
calculation, so make sure that your memory is cleared. THE FIRST OPERATION
YOU DO WHENEVER YOU START TO PROCESS ANY DATA IS TO CLEAR ANY
EXISTING DATA.
THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN SIMPLY BY TURNING THE CALCULATOR OFF!!!

Entering the data
Data may be entered as individual scores,
or in multiples of each score.
To enter the data individually :
M+
x value
or value of the score
This is referred
to as the DATA
ENTRY key.
Enter the following data

When you have entered them all, check that the number
of entries is correct ie n  15
And now the statistics and their respective symbols

All correct? Great work.
If you have not the correct answers, then you will have to re-enter
Your data – after CLEARING the previous entries. If you have a
Casio fx-82MS, you can check your data entries and correct them.
Try this example:
32.10,
12.10,
n  11
-45.00,
18.00,
66.00, 2.53, -8.10,
21.00, -31.00, 2.10

Population sd
32.97
Sample sd
34.58
Population variance
1086.89
Sample variance
1195.58
-51.25,
If you do not have these answers, first check how you
entered the negative values.
You must use the +/- or (-) key for negative values –
NOT the operation “minus” key.
To enter multiple or
grouped data
• Enter six 2’s on your calculator
• What if you had to enter 20, 50, …?
• Now try:
