IWRM Implementation in Cambodia and Thailand
Following outcomes will contribute to the achievement of the overall
project objective:
1)IWRM-based governance: IWRM-based governance strengthened
and consolidated, in collaboration among agencies, water users and
other stakeholders, and with appropriate knowledge-sharing among
management levels and among sectors
2)The future of resource-based livelihoods: Improved understanding
of social, economic and environmental cause-effect relationships
and policy options in support of sustainable, resource-based
livelihoods
3)Healthy lakes: Understanding built and awareness raised among
agencies and residents about why and how to achieve and preserve

Some activities have
been presented in SLB
Forum 14-15 August
2014 @ Prince of
Songkla University
Chatchai Ratanachai 31 August 2014
Challenge issues
1. Existence of illegal fishing gears
2. Non-alignment of objectives and
mandates of different government
agencies
3. Some drivers, e.g., government policies
(esp. land use) & market (esp. product
price), has led to some unsustainable
development pathways
4. Delay in financial procedure badly slowed
down progress of the project, and
discouraged local participation.
