Safe Science Having a Safe Attitude Why is Safety Important • Safety hazards exist in any laboratory. • Must be aware and take precautions to reduce risks of an accident. • You can avoid accidents if you understand how to use equipment and materials and follow procedures properly. Specific Safety Hazards • Follow specific instructions to use materials and equipment safely.
