What I would like to learn: Through gestures [Child 2] indicated that he
wanted to explore numbering cans.

Talk about likes and dislikes.
Observation:
[Child 2] was very vocal and specific in expressing his likes and dislikes in relation to fruit and
vegetables however is at early stages of discussing why.
When generating a discussion about his brother’s likes and dislikes he commented “Yusif like
strawberries”

Count out loud/read numbers/talk about familiar numbers.
Observation:
[Child 2] is able to count confidently to 5 and repeat numbers to 10, he can name numbers 5-10
out of sequence. He demonstrated his ability to read numbers 0-10 with the exception of 6 and 9
however through repetition is beginning to differentiate between them.
[Child 2] was able to state his own age, his brother’s age and match the corresponding number
using magnetic letters.

Talk about the same/different, record his findings through creating a chart.
Observation:
[Child 2] demonstrated his understanding of the same and different and was able to articulate
the differences when commenting “Carrot orange”, “Round, not round” when making reference
to a strawberry and a carrot.
[Child 2] also with support recorded his finding through creating a chart to help consolidate his
learning through application.
I learned “count”.
I am beginning to verbally count up to 10.
