1. Does the plant change/rearrange the chemicals it takes in during photosynthesis into new substances? Please give 12 examples.
Yes, light energy changes carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. Some plants also grow
which animals eat. Animals digesting that fruit is another example of a chemical interaction .
2. Where does photosynthesis take place in the plant? Please be very specific.
The process of photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplast of plant cells. Chloroplasts contain a
green substance called chlorophyll. This absorbs the light energy needed to make photosynthesis
happen.
3. What does the plant do with the glucose it produces?
The plant uses the glucose to help it carry out all of its daily functions. Glucose is the plant’s energy
source.
4. Where does the glucose go in cellular respiration?
The glucose goes to the mitochondria, which is like the battery of the cell. It gives the cell energy. It
gets this energy from the glucose.
5. How is an animal dependent on the process of photosynthesis?
Animals breathe in oxygen which is a product of photosynthesis. Animals also eat the fruit that
plants produce. Plants cannot grow fruit without photosynthesis.
