Department of Chemistry PhD Studentship Professor Alessandro Troisi PhD project: Theory of electron transfer at interface and application to solar cell design Supervisors: Professor Alessandro Troisi Project description: A PhD Studentship is available to work on the theoretical modelling of electron transfer and transport under the supervision of Prof. Alessandro Troisi. The project involves a combination of theoretical methods from quantum chemistry, chemical physics and statistical mechanics and it is therefore suitable for students with a good background in physical/theoretical chemistry, material science or condensed matter physics. The methods developed within the project will be applied to the study of organic solar cells, organic transistors and other organic electronic devices. Tax free stipend for the student is approximately £13,500/year. Requirements: Due to funding restrictions the studentship is available to current U.K. residents who have been/will be awarded a Master’s degree by the beginning of the studentship in October 2013. Experience with computer programming and data analysis is desirable. How to apply: It is recommended to make informal enquires to [email protected] before applying. Research group information is available at www.warwick.ac.uk/go/troisigroup Details on how to apply formally can be found at http://www.go.warwick.ac.uk/pgapply
