Wat Phra Kaew has a lot of buildings within
the precincts of the Grand Palace. It has over 100
buildings with “over 200 years royal history and
architectural experimentation” linked to it.
The main temple is regarded as the most sacred
Buddhist temple in Thailand. The main building is the
central ubosoth, which houses the statue of Emerald
Buddha. That is simply the Jadeite statue, but it is
adorned with sets of gold. There are three different
sets of gold clothing, which are changed by the King of
Thailand or a liaison in a ceremony at the changing of
the seasons. The three sets of gold garments
correspond to Thailand's summer season, rainy season,
and cool season.
When we comes down from the foot of the stairs of the
temple. There is a holy water basin is located. We tend to
sprinkle holy dip in the lotus to the prosperity. The holy
water is to pour water from the Emerald Buddha, each
time a change to the regular season.
The architectural style
is named as Rattanakosin
style. The main temple of
the Emerald Buddha is
very elegantly decorated
and similar to the temple
in ancient capital of
Ayudhya.
Who want to see Angkor Watt once in their lives.
They have a chance to try to watch a model of
Angkor Watt. That is from the the 4th King had
visited there and he saw that as a miracle of sorts
and made a model of it.
The compound walls are decorated with typically
Thai murals, based on the Indian epic Ramayana.
In Thai language these murals are known to form
the Ramakian, the Thai national epic, which was written
during the reign of King Rama. The epic stories formed
the basic information to draw the paintings during the
reign of King. These paintings are refurbished regularly.
The murals, in 178 scenes, starting with the north gate
of the temple illustrates the complete epic story of
Ramayana sequentially, in a clockwise direction covering
the entire compound wall. The murals serve to emphasise
human values of honesty, faith, and devotion.
If we walk away from this epic first episode, we see so
little of the pagoda is located. Prang was 8 Was God exists
inside the balcony. But he had to walk out the door to go
outside to watch.
The pagoda was built during the reign of the Third King
is sure to be built and consecrated unto the precursor in
Buddhism.
This is all the Wat Phra Kaew,
Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
