Lung Cancer Emily Cauchon Katie Reeves Description Lung cancer is mainly caused by cigarette smoking and is always treatable. There are two major types of lung cancer: non-small cell and small cell. It begins when cells in the lung grow out of control and form a lump. Where in the body Lung cancer affects the lungs. The normal function of the lungs is to absorb oxygen from the air and bring the oxygen into the bloodstream for delivery to the rest of the body.
