LEARNING OBJECTIVE Students will find the number of combinations of a set of objects and find probabilities. Students will be able to understand the ill effects of alcohol and drugs. I want you to use academic language using the following vocabulary words: probability, ratio, outcomes, and event. AGENDA •Introduction to Chapter , Lesson 9-5 Combinations and Lesson 9-7 Theoretical and Experimental Probability •Engage NY Lesson 4 and 5 •ST Math – Computer Lab •Introduction to Chapter 9, Lesson 1 and 4. •Show DVD and Brain Pop on Alcohol. •Chapter 1- 3 Probability as a Ratio •ST Math in Computer Lab •Engage NY Lesson 3 and 4 DO NOW ACTIVITY Make Cornell notes or take out your foldable and write what you have learned on Lessons 9-5 and 9-7. Take out foldable and get ready to take notes on the lecture. Make sure you have it made by Tuesday. Take out a sheet of paper and copy problems 1 to 40 on pages 19 to 25. Work with your team to complete the assignment. HOMEWORK Do problems 1 to 25, pages 482 to 483. Do problems 1 to 29, pages 488 to 490. Copy and answer questions at end of lessons 1 - 4. Read and do all work in Chapter 8 from pages 228-253. Copy Chapter 8 Assessment, questions 1 – 16, page 254. Complete all work in Chapter 1-3 Probability as a Ratio. Show your work. Do problems 1 to 40. Use pencil. TEST Your test will be selected homework problems from Lesson 9-5 and 9-7. Chapter 9 Assessment. You will have 16 questions on your test. Copy and answer questions 1 to 16 on page 254. Your test will be Chapter 1, Standards Practice, problems 1 to 12, pages 30 to 31. ESSENTIAL QUESTION Why is understanding how to predict important in life? Why is it important to understand how alcohol and drug products will harm your body? Why is understanding ratio and probability important? Can you make an example of a ratio or rate that can serve you in your daily life?
