The adult moths are infrequently seen, fly at night but
are rarely attracted to light-traps

• Dark Mullein grows 1550cm high
• Leaves soft, hairy, dark
green
• Stem angled and often
purple.
• Flowers rich yellow with
purple stamens in flower
centres.
• Found in open fields and
hedgerows on chalk and
limestone soils, especially
where disturbed
