O Objective:
O Recognize the consequences of the losses of
biodiversity due to catastrophic events,
climate changes, human activity, & the
introduction of invasive, non-native species.
Loss of Biodiversity
O 99% of all species that have ever lived are
now extinct
O The current rate of species loss is
approaching 1000 times the “typical” rate

O Altering habitats
