Data transfer speeds

What's the real difference?
Data transfer speeds can be difficult to comprehend when
presented in kilobits per second.
How long would a typical single music file of 5 Megabytes
take to download using the different mobile communications
technologies? (Remember bits are not the same as bytes;
1Megabit = approx 125Kilobytes)
GSM
GPRS
3G
14.4 kilobits
per second
114 kilobits
per second
14 megabits
per second
47 minutes
6 minutes
2.9 seconds
In reality, the download speeds would be
much slower; why is this?

Other wireless technologies
Bluetooth is a short range wireless
communication technology, Its often used
for connecting earpieces to phones or
computers wirelessly creating a personal
area network (PAN).
In the future it is likely to have more impact as ‘proximity’
communications services and applications start to grow in
popularity. For example: proximity marketing can allow an
advert to appear on you phone advertising a special offer
whenever you walk into a store.
What other uses does Bluetooth have?
