Discussed the Experimental Course HLED 1910 Public Health & Society.
Approval of the Department of Business, Accounting, & Economics to
a. Create a New Course Prefix, BIA (Business Intelligence Analytics) and Change
MGMT 3600 Managing Information Technology, BUS 2200 Data Visualization
& Reporting, BUS 3100 Data & Text Mining, and BUS 3150 Database &
Networking Design to BIA 3600, BIA 2200, BIA 3100, and BIA 3150.
b. Change the Bachelor of Science Business Analytics program with the deletion
of MBA 5960 Business Ethics, and replace MKTG 4400 Marketing Strategy
with MGMT 4800 Strategy Capstone.
Discussed Team Reports regarding departments’ curricular reviews as well as the
overlap of majors and minors and the percentage of hours that a major and
general education compose.
Requires Senate Approval
Discussed the General Education ad hoc Committee’s drafted report regarding
the new 126 maximum hours for degree completion.

Approval of the Individualized Major Social Media for Social Justice (Hurd,
Allison) Change in requirement from COMM 2500 to COMM 1500.
Approval of the Individualized Minor Public Health (Barrueta, Mikah).
Approval of the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Program to lift the Biology
Minor restriction.
Discussed the Department of Biology & Earth Science proposal to disallow
students in the Zoo & Conservation Science Major from double majoring in
Biology; has been referred to the Transfer Articulation & Compliance Subcommittee.
Approval of the Department of Communication to Delete COMM 2050 Sophomore
Seminar.

Approval of the Department of Psychology to
a. Delete PSYC 2320 Adult Development; PSYC 4520 Advanced Topics and PSYC
4610 Cognitive Development.
b. Make changes to the Psychology Major.
Discussed the Department of Psychology changes to the Psychology Minor; sent
back to the Department for further consideration.
Discussed the Team Reports; reports will be sent to the deans, department
chairs, and program directors.

Discussed the General Education ad hoc Committee’s proposals regarding the

Heard the First Reading of the Department of Physics Proposal to Add a Major in
Engineering Physics.
