Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Characterized by:
– Pain (duration > 3 months)

Symptoms
– Diarrhea, constipation or alternating episodes
of both
– Flatulence, bloating,
– Indigestion, belching, heartburn, nausea
– Mucus in the stool

– Elemental diet, for persons with acute IBS
