after it hosted US giant Boeing for a four-day international conference, featuring leading personnel from
some of the world’s top aviation corporations.

defence, space and security systems – invited more than 100 international delegates from across the
globe to the five-star Resort for a four-day event covering the evolution of aviation and aircraft and
showcasing the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner and B737 twin-jet narrow-body airliner.
The conference also included a two-day golf tournament, the European Airline Classic, at which the 100plus delegates – decision-makers from many of the world’s biggest airlines – played on both of
Donnafugata’s splendid courses, the Lakes and Parkland – venue for the 2011 Sicilian Open.
Boeing selected Donnafugata because of the Resort’s ability to cater for all requirements of the four-day
event – from the conference itself, through first-class catering and accommodation to the golf
tournament. And, as we’re just 15 minutes from the airport at Comiso, it was convenient for some of the
delegates who arrived by private jet.
