Welcome to another
edition of our Foundation
Focus. This issue is filled
with wonderful stories that
confirm the overwhelming
support we have received
from the community and
beyond. We began 2016
celebrating the completion
of the first phase of our
Together For The Children
campaign, surpassing our
initial goal of $150 million
and doing it two years
ahead of schedule! Last year alone we raised an unprecedented
$71.5 million alone, providing resources for construction of the
Advanced Pediatric Care Pavilion (APCP), which is transforming
our campus and the care of critically ill patients. We also changed
the name of our hospital to honor the extraordinary philanthropic
commitment of our campaign chairs, Jack and Barbara Nicklaus.
With the generosity of our donors, we funded technology,
research and innovation; expanded care access; and made
medical advances that are giving children healthier futures.
So far in 2016, we have made great strides! In these pages
you can read more about a recent dedication ceremony for
the Gladys M. & Frederick Stewart Pediatric Care Center which
honored a generous donation of $1.25 million from the Estate of
Gladys M. Stewart. We are also highlighting on our front page
the success of Wine, Women & Shoes Presented by Sergio Rossi,
where more than 700 of South Florida’s most fashionable women
came together in support of our cause.

takes a stand
Members of the Miami Children’s President’s Cabinet paid a visit
to the Advanced Pediatric Care Pavilion (APCP), currently under
construction at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital main campus. This new
state-of-the- art 217,000 sq. ft. facility will house the hospital’s intensive
care units and will offer patients the comfort of private rooms, with
enhanced clinical provisions and amenities. The President’s Cabinet
members have dedicated their efforts over the past couple of years to
raising support for the APCP, so this was an amazing opportunity to see
the fruits of their labor and the backbone of the building. ❖
