Allergen Maintenance
New Module
There is a new module in the Admin view - Clinical tab called Allergen Maintenance. This module
will allow you to add new allergens and edit existing allergens. The new allergens can then be
added to a patient’s chart. Previously, the allergens had to be pre-defined in the system. So, if a
patient had an allergy that didn’t exist in the allergen record, the provider could not document it
properly.
This module will provide the following benefits.
• Accurately document a patient’s allergies.
• Avoid any potential patient safety issues.
• Meet Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements.
