Discount cards may be used by all residents of Cedar
Rapids. No restrictions based on the resident’s age,
income level, or existing health coverage. The
discount card benefits not only those without
insurance, but can also be used by underinsured
residents to obtain prescriptions that are excluded
from health benefit plans. The discount cards offer
residents and average savings of 20 percent off the
retail price of commonly prescribed medications.

individuals based on income. Offer prescription
assistance programs. Offer savings on certain
prescription medications, as well as information
about medications
Prescription assistance: The Iowa Prescription Drug
Corporation has a program to help people with
medications, called Iowa Medication Voucher
Program. Through this program uninsured or
underinsured patients can get a 90 day supply of
certain meds for $3.00 from participating
pharmacies.
Iowa Drug Card is a free discount prescription
assistance program for all Iowa residents. Uninsured
and underinsured patients can print a free card from
www.iowadrugcard.com. The program is accepted
at all major pharmacies (56,000 pharmacies around
the country), as well as many independents, and
covers generic and name brand medications. There
are no eligibility requirements for this program.

Program
Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00
PM.
The corporation provides assistance to help reduce
the cost of prescription medications for uninsured
and under-insured Iowans. Programs available
include the Iowa Drug Donation Repository and the
Iowa Voucher Program with IPDC discount card.

anytime prescriptions are not covered by insurance
for a savings of up to 24% at participating
pharmacies. There are no enrollment forms,
membership fees or limits on frequency of use. Any

insurance can use the program. Even persons with
insurance for prescription drugs may benefit by
using the card for prescription drugs not covered by
their existing plan. Cards can also be used for pets if
they take medications that are used for human
conditions.
