WELLBEING
The Center for Well-Being takes an
integrative approach to medicine by
treating the entire person with innovative therapies and treatments for the
physical, emotional and spiritual parts
that make us whole. When one area is
not functioning correctly, it can negatively impact other aspects of overall
health. Integrative services appeal to
the emotionally based aspects of our being,
and rejuvenating treatments target psychological improvement and well-being. True
health is viewed not only as the absence of
disease but also as the harmonious integration of body, mind and spirit. By nurturing
the harmony of these elements, we strive to
maximize a person’s overall health.
Location
All services and classes are offered through
out St. Joseph’s and Candler campuses.
Our scheduling base is Suite 120 located
on the first floor of the Candler Heart and

Types of Massage
Swedish: Traditional relaxation and therapeutic massage of long, gliding strokes and
kneading techniques.
Deep Tissue: Therapeutic massage that
targets the deeper layers of the muscles, using slow movements and deep trigger point
pressure to release chronic tightness and
tension.
Prenatal: Therapeutic bodywork which focuses on the special needs of the mother-tobe as her body goes through the dramatic
changes of pregnancy. The Center has two
Pre-Natal Massage Tables which makes it finally possible for the mother-to-be to relax
comfortably.
Parent and Baby Massage: A Massage
Therapist will help parents learn basic massage skills for relaxing their babies. The
massage helps to increase the health and
bonding of the parents and baby.
Sports Massage: Invigorating massage increases flexibility, aids in conditioning and
promotes the release of toxins responsible
for muscle soreness.
Reflexology: A pressure technique applied
to the hands and feet where all the body’s
structure and organs are reflected.
HotStone Therapy: Warm, smooth stones
are applied to the body using the traditional Swedish massage movements.
Raindrop Therapy®: This therapy combines the art of aromatherapy with the
technique of light massage along the vertebra and the application of therapeutic grade
essential oils dispensed like little drops of
rain. The oils are used to help fight viruses,
muscle spasms, inflammation, and for circulation.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage: Form of
massage that is gentle, flowing, and rhythmic.
Onsite Corporate Chair Massage: A certified massage therapist will come directly to
your office or business, based on per hour.
Phased Reflex Technique (PRT)
Phased Reflex Technique is a gentle, noninvasive healing modality. This technique
provides pain relief, while minimizing the effects of injury or discomfort by soothing the
nervous system. PRT incorporates the use of
positional release and joint compression to
stimulate the “proprioceptive” nerves, which
innervate all the joint structures of the body.
As these nerves are soothed, the resulting
effects will create increased circulation, reduced pain and softened muscle tissue, followed by a deep sense of harmony of mind
and body. Clients can remain fully clothed
during the session, thus they are advised to
wear loose fitting clothing.
Cost: 60 minute session $65
30 minute session $40
Energy Healing
Energy Healing targets the energy centers of
the body where all major organs and glands
are located. During a session the practitioner will place their hands over or on those
areas of the body where the vital organs are
located. This session provides relaxation that
is non-invasive and works well for anyone
for your
WellBeing
who desires relief from stress or who may
not be able to tolerate a vigorous massage.
The client is usually fully clothed during a
treatment session.
Cost: 30 minute session $40
60 minute session $65
Body Salt Scrubs
Feel the stress melt away as your skin is
gently exfoliated and massaged using a Salt
Scrub. The Body Scrub will remove dead
skin cell, stimulate circulation and leave
skin hydrated, smooth and radiant.
Cost: • Body Scrub (45 minute treatment) $65
• 75 minute Body Treatment (Body scrub
& 30 minute massage) $87
• 105 minute Body Treatment (Body scrub
& one hour massage) $110
Inpatient Massage Therapy
Massage therapy provided in the privacy of
your own hospital room by a certified massage therapist. Your nurse must obtain a
physician approval/referral and schedule an
appointment time.
Cost: 30 minutes - $40
One hour - $65
Parent-Baby Massage Class
Specially trained massage therapist will take
new parents through massage techniques
that can be used on your infants to increase
health and bonding. Times will be scheduled individually with our massage therapist for each set of parent(s) and baby, in
30 minute time slots. Parents are asked to
bring their baby’s favorite blanket and baby
lotion, if child has sensitive skin.
Cost:$40.00
Acupuncture
The Center for WellBeing is pleased to
offer Acupuncture services, provided by a
Nationally Board Certified Licensed Acupuncturist. Acupuncture is a 4000-year
old branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is based on the belief that disease
and pain are the result of an imbalance of
energy in the body called Qi (pronounced
“chee”). Acupuncture uses hair-fine needles that are painlessly inserted into points
along energy channels, called meridians,
to help restore and maintain the balance
of Qi.
Acupuncture is becoming widely recognized
in the US as an complementary form of treatment for many health issues. In 1997, the
NIH (National Institutes of Health) confirmed the effectiveness of Acupuncture in
treating a wide range of conditions including:
• Allergies / Asthma • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome • Digestive Disorders / IBS • Fibromyalgia • Infertility • Osteoarthritis
• Sinus problems • Smoking Addiction •
Tinnitus / Vertigo • UTI / Incontinence • Anxiety / Depression • Colds and Flu •
Facial Rejuvenation • Headache, Migraine

the HealthQuest Mobile Unit is available
to come to the worksite to conduct health
screenings.
