Johannes Brandt is a film composer who has scored the german television movies
"Die Liebe unserer Eltern", "Der Staatsanwalt: Sport ist Mord", "Tatort: Die letzte
Wiesn".
Born in Berlin, he got his first piano lessons at the age of six. During his school years,
he gained several musical experiences as bandleader, trumpeter, arranger and
conductor. He played trumpet in the 60 piece Berlin Youth Symphony Orchestra and
participated in concert tours to Russia and China. From 2004 till 2009 he studied in
Berlin at the Berlin University of Arts, at the Humboldt-University of Berlin and at
the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin and got his teaching degree (BA & MS) for
secondary school in music and mathematics.
During this time he advanced his skills in composing, playing the piano and in
music theory.
From 2010 till 2014 Johannes studied successfully composition for Film and
Media (BA) with Enjott Schneider and Gerd Baumann at the University of Music
and Performing Arts Munich. During this time he composed the music for many
shorts, commercials and various pieces of concert music. He also took part in diverse
live shows for the Bavarian Radio Station as a composer, conductor and pianist.
Additionaly he worked for different composers and projects as an orchestrator,
arranger, copyist and assistant.
Since the end of 2014 he works as a professional film composer and also drives
forward the production of his first solo EP.
