José Enrique de la Vega
PRODUCTOR, COMPOSITOR, PIANISTA Y ARREGLISTA
He was born in Coria del Río, Seville, SPAIN, where he spent his childhood and adolescence,
and where their first steps in music began.
At the age of nine years old he contributed to the local radio station creating compositions for
advertising spots and jingles. In 1984, he joined the Municipal band of his town, place in which
he began to study the trombone. Influenced by the musical culture tradition of his homeland he
devoted much of his teenage years to the knowledge of the Andalusian folklore and flamenco
music, working with the first figures in this genre. It's at that time when he composed the jingles
of the three most popular programmes of the well-known radio station Cadena Ser: "Hoy por
hoy Sevilla", "El Club de la tarde" and "Vivir Sevilla"
In 1993 he took charge of the emblematic Sevillian folklore band called Cantores de Híspalis
becoming a very important pillar as pianist, director, arranger and music producer and directing,
since then until today, all their record projects and concerts.
Among his works as an arranger he has worked on several occasions with The Royal
Philharmonic Orchestra at the legendary Abbey Road Studios,
with the Municipal Band of Sevilla and the session of strings of the Royal Symphonic Orchestra
of Seville, and so on.
Royal Albert Hall (London), Palau de la Música (Barcelona) and Teatro Lope de Vega (Seville)
were some of the places where he has performed. In 1996 he was part of the supporting band
in the concert given by the mythical King of Pop, Michael Jackson in his tour "History" at the
stadium La Romareda (Zaragoza) for more than 50.000 people.
Recently, much of his work is focused on the composition of original soundtracks. It must be
enphasized that he was the composer, in the year 2008, of the first great Andalusian animation
production in 3D titled "Mission in MOCLAND". He composed the classic work
"Oración a la Virgen Macarena" commissioned exclusively for the film Flamenco-Flamenco,
which is the last film directed by the prestigious film maker Carlos Saura.
He was also the music producer, arranger and composer of the multidisciplinary project work
Universe Salmah, for the record company Universal Music.
In recent years produced the singer's label Raul Cabello and especially the last
record productions for the folklore band Cantores de Híspalis "La Gran Fiesta de las Sevillanas
Vol.I 35 Años de Éxito" with more than 60.000 copies sold and nominated to Premios de la
Música of Spain, " La Gran Fiesta de las Sevillanas Vol.II 35 Queridos Compañeros", work
considered by national critics as the most outstanding in the genre of sevillanas and "La Pasión
Según Andalucía" work that reflects the passion of Christ based on the customs and traditions
of the Andalusian people penitential.
In 2012 composed the soundtrack "El Caballo" for the Interpretation Centre Horse Ecija. His
latest production is titled "Que Dios Reparta Suerte" of Sevillian poet and bullfighter José León.
A double album devoted entirely to the bullfighting world full of feeling, passion, art and
sensitivity.
