Dumisani Washington is the Diversity Outreach Coordinator for Christians United for Israel, and
the Director of the Institute for Black Solidarity with Israel. He is also a pastor, author,
composer and music educator in Stockton, California. He and his wife, Valerie, have been
married 26 years and have six children ages 14 to 25. His latest book is entitled Zionism & the
Black Church: Why Standing with Israel Will be a Defining Issue for Christians of Color in the
21st Century. His upcoming book is entitled The Jewish Diaspora: Understanding Israel’s MultiEthnic Identity & Her Prophetic Return to the Land.
Dumisani is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and director of The Zion
Academy of Music in Stockton. He is also senior pastor of the Congregation of Zion in
Stockton; and owner of June 25th Music Production Company. He is director of the gospel/
Hebrew musical group, The Hebrew Project based in Northern California
Dumisani formed the Institute for Black Solidarity with Israel (IBSI) in July 2013. IBSI is
dedicated to strengthening the relationship between Israel and the Jewish people, and people of
African descent through education and advocacy. IBSI is a social media and library resource,
and partners with individuals and organizations all over the country as well as in Nigeria, Kenya
and Israel.
At over 2 million members, Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in
the United States. It was founded by Pastor John Hagee of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio.
As CUFI’s Diversity Outreach Coordinator, Dumisani works with pastors, churches, college
students and millennial’s to strengthen the ties between the Christian community and the Jewish
State. While continuing to pastor in Stockton, Dumisani also lectures across the country and
