MORE INFORMATION:
ZOFO, the twice Grammy-nominated piano duo hailed as “...jaw-dropping awesome!”
(San Francisco Examiner) and “…dazzling.” (LA Times) is coming to San Jose on
Sunday, February 14, 2016.
ZOFO, which is shorthand for 20-finger orchestra (ZO=20 and FO=finger orchestra),
will perform a program including Gershwin, Bach, and a selection from the duo’s CD,
“ZOFO plays Terry Riley.” That CD, highlighting work from the immensely popular
American composer, was selected among 2015’s favorite classical albums by NPR and
Gramophone Magazine. Two of the works being played, composed by Gabriela Frank
and Christian Henking, were commissioned for ZOFO.
This prize-winning Steinway Artist Ensemble is blazing a bold new path. Since joining
forces in 2009, internationally acclaimed pianists Eva Maria Zimmermann and Keisuke
Nakagoshi have electrified audiences from Carnegie Hall to Tokyo with dazzling artistry
and outside the box thematic programming for piano-four-hands. Their achievements
